Q1: We cannot follow the DTI regulations or tips on your website. Will you still offer us a fireworks policy?
A: If you are unable to comply with the DTI regulations, then unfortunately we cannot offer you cover. You MUST comply with those regulations otherwise we will not be able to provide a policy for your event. However, if you are unable to comply with the DTI tips we have a degree of flexibility and cover will be offered depending on the content of your risk assessment and site plan.

Q2: I am using category 4 fireworks in my display. I have the relevant training and license so will you cover me?
A: We will not cover fireworks events that use fireworks higher than category 3.

Q3: I am a fireworks company looking for annual insurance for doing public displays. Can you help me?
A: We can only offer single event policies for fireworks events, we can look to cover you however our policy is not really designed to cater to professional fireworks companies.

Q4: Are the use of sparklers covered?
A: Unfortunately, we are not able to offer cover for the user of sparklers

Q5: Can we take out employer’s liability insurance for the event?
A: Yes, we can offer Employers Liability Insurance for stewards, ticket collectors and general helpers – whether they are paid or voluntary helpers. Unfortunately, we cannot offer cover for the people releasing the fireworks or lighting the bonfire.

Q6: Do we have to notify the local residents?
A: It is always best practice to make everyone in the surrounding area aware of the fireworks night. Not only will you be engaging with the community but residents or nearby businesses will be able to take any precautions such as keeping pets inside, in case it causes them a shock!

Q7: Do you offer cancellation cover?
A: We can provide you with a quotation for cancellation cover, but we will need to talk to you to check a few things first. Please give us a call on 01425 484 861.

Q8: Can I change my event date if the weather is bad and is there a fee to do this?
A: We are more than happy to amend your cover dates, particularly if this is due to bad weather or health and safety concerns. Unlike many insurers, we will do this free of charge.

Q9: What are the minimum safety distances required to release our own fireworks?

Q10: Are bonfires covered?
A: Yes, we automatically include cover for the bonfire within our quoted premium.
