What does our catering insurance cover?

We offer several types of catering insurance policies, our key cover options are:
 

• Public liability insurance - this covers the policyholder for bodily injury to a member of the public or third-party property due to your negligence. This can apply to when you’re setting up your event/catering stall and during the event. 

• Employers liability insurance - this covers the policyholder for their liability to pay for claimants costs and expenses which arise due to injury to someone you have employed at the event (including paid or unpaid staff). The employee must have been under your control and supervision at the time of the incident.

• Cancellation insurance -  this covers the policyholder for irrecoverable costs due to event cancellation, postponement or abandonment. We will look to offer this on an event by event basis.

• Event equipment insurance - this covers the policyholder for accidental damage, loss or theft of their stock, stall or additional equipment they’re legally responsible for during the event. Please note that for stock claims, we only cover the wholesale cost of the items.

What is catering insurance?

Catering insurance is a type of insurance policy which is designed to cover caterers attending events or organisers of events which offer catering services. Policyholders can get financial protection for public liability, employers liability, event equipment insurance and event cancellation insurance.

How much does catering insurance cost?

We offer both single and multiple event insurance. Our single catering event insurance starts from just £69 (covering 4 consecutive days) and our multiple catering event insurance starts from as little as £182 (covering up to 15 or up to 45 events). The cost of catering insurance will depend on a number of factors, such as the level of cover you require, the number of days you would like to cover for and how many people are attending the event you’re catering for.

What insurance do I need for catering?

You may not be legally obligated to have catering insurance but the types of insurance covers you should consider investing in are public liability, employers liability, event cancellation and event equipment cover.

Do I need catering insurance?
