Market Traders Insurance FAQs
We advise that all market traders get a comprehensive public liability insurance policy as a minimum, especially when working at multiple markets with varying degrees of risk. Venues, event organisers and local authorities will often require this level of cover as a minimum. If you have employees, we would strongly recommend employers liability cover too and our event equipment policy will cover any damage to your stock and stand etc.

If you want to be protected against any injury to a member of the public or damage to their property due to negligence, then you will need public liability insurance.
It’s simple to get public liability insurance for your market stall. Simply click on ‘get a quote’ and provide us with your details and the details of your event / level of cover required. You will then either be provided with a quote or can purchase your policy online, depending on the complexity of your policy, as our specialist underwriters may need to review it.

Please note the following:
- This policy provides cover over the course of a year for 100 one day events; however it can be tailored to cover 50 2-days events, or 33 3-day events.
- This policy is not suitable for those who are supplying hot food at events. Please contact us on 01425 470360 and we can guide you to the appropriate policy.
